Wim De Malsche, Ph.D., graduated as a Bio-engineer at the Free University of Brussels and obtained a PhD at the Mesa+ Institute for Nanotechnology (the Netherlands).
He was the first to experimentally demonstrate the potential of micro-Chip pillar arrays columns for use in liquid chromatography. In parallel to subsequent research fellowships at Imec and VUB, he co-founded PharmaFluidics, acting as its CEO (2010-2014), and currently as its CTO and Director.
Since 2015 he also became Associate Professor at VUB, heading a Strategic Research Program in the Microfluidics area. In 2016, he received a 1.5 million Euro Advanced grant from the European Research Council (ERC) to accompany early career researchers in this high impact research.
